Correct way to play a flopped set? 5/10 6Max
Game is pretty good- i have a tightish table image- Villain in question is somewhat loose and slightly low stacked. Not been in many hands with Villain so not sure what he has at first but then peg him for an Ace with medium kicker. Comments appreciated on how I played this. Is UTG raise with TT a bit ambitious?

Final Pot: 10.20 BB I planned the CR on turn because i thought he was calling me with a weakish ace. Comments? |

I think I like just betting the turn, hoping to 3-bet. It would really suck if he is drawing and checks behind.
I normally raise 77 UTG, so I don't think your preflop raise is ambitious at all . |

Is UTG raise with TT a bit ambitious? [/ QUOTE ] its not ambitious to assume you have the best hand so i think open raising UTG is normal if not compulsory in addition to having a weak ace he has to not be in the mood to raise his weak ace for this to be perfect stripsqueez - chickenhawk |

I would just bet out here on the turn, especially because of the flush draw out there (where a caller might well just check the turn). But nice hand, regardless.

Correct way to play a flopped set? 5/10 6Max [/ QUOTE ] Personally, I usually have a very aggressive image at the table (and I times I probably appear LAGgy). Therefore, (genearally speaking) I play sets fast. With the image described above, I can bet the turn and usually hope to get raised so that I can 3-bet thereafter. (The only thing that sucks in this hand is that the flopped Ace is probably gonna slow down your action. But, c'est la vie). Adam |
