I\'m not a girl, but I am online
When choosing my online name for partypoker, for some reason I thought I could hussle people by having a name similar to the type that a teenage girl would have in an AOL chatroom.
Is anyone really falling for this? Am I scummy for doing it in the first place, or just pathetic? I play predominantly $3-6 HE. but occasionally go down all the way to even the lowest limits. I'm having quite some success, but who wouldn't playing low limits on Party. Is there any possibility that I'm winning even slightly more money than I would be if other players thought I was a guy? Sincerely Crossdressing, Lazymeatball PS. occasionally other players even try to flirt with me, I think that's even more pathetic than pretending to be woman. |

Re: I\'m not a girl, but I am online
meatball,
I think being a cross-dresser is a good thing (er...while playing poker online). Read any interview with Jen Harmon and it's always mentioned how male players typically think she can't play because she's a girl...she's always happy to show them she can. Why not do the same online? I don't think there's any shame in it...I know of several 2+2'rs that are cross dressers (or at least purposely ambiguous). If I had put more thought into my name when I first started, I probably would have considered it. |

Hey, rationalization or not,, this is hilarious stuff
Dear "Sincerely Crossdressing":
Great post. If you want to crossdress online, so what ? Whether or not it helps your EV from games won't really influence your choice of a "front". You're going to do it or not for non-montary reasons, however else you may rationalize it. Ted "No Frou Frou Outfit for Me" Geisel |

Re: I\'m not a girl, but I am online
My friend changed his name to a female one and has seen a notable increase in winnings. It could be coincidence, but I don't think it could be MINUS EV to have a female screenname. Do it!

Unless you have also told Party you are a woman, anyone playing with the cartoon players turned on will still see a male avatar sitting in your seat.

Re: I\'m not a girl, but I am online
I use my dog's name online, which is female. Sometimes other players will flirt in the chatbox. Usually, I break the news to them. The reactions can be amusing.

Re: I\'m not a girl, but I am online
Guppy,
When I signed up for Party I checked the female box, hence, I get the hot girlie Avatars (except for that dog in the 8 seat. woof) At first I was afraid that if Party found out they'd get mad at me for fraud and whatnot, but my account has already undergone review (phone confirmation) and no problems so far. I must say it is somewhat embarassing having to spell out my girlie name over the phone. |

Re: I\'m not a girl, but I am online
I just had a strange thought, what are the chances of this working in a B&M casino? I have heard of Phil Gordon and his cohorts competing in the occassional Ladies Only Tournaments. Check out this link for info on that

Re: I\'m not a girl, but I am online
Its more effective on Stars where you just submit a
picture of a woman. |
