TT, utg. Played terrible. How do I play this preflop?
Seat 1: mp3 (2935 in chips)
Seat 2: co (3242 in chips) Seat 3: button (6755 in chips) Seat 4: sb (4480 in chips) Seat 5: villain (2472 in chips) Seat 6: Hero (2793 in chips) Seat 7: UTG+1 (3100 in chips) Seat 8: mp1 (12875 in chips) Seat 9: mp2 (8245 in chips) *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Hero [Th Tc] Hero: raises 400 to 600 Folds to BB Villain: calls 400 *** FLOP *** [2c Qs Kh] villain: checks Hero: bets 1000 villain: raises 872 to 1872 and is all-in hero has got to call? I feel like I played this hand poorly all around. Is the raise utg terrible? Should I limp, raise, push or fold preflop? I don’t feel like folding is a real option. Is the flop bet terrible? Is the call terrible? I had no reads on this player. Man, I hate this. So fishy. My real problem is that I’m not sure how to play preflop. Criticize my play; I felt it was bad. |

Re: TT, utg. Played terrible. How do I play this preflop?
Have you read Harringtons book?
There he says that you should make an healthy raise 3-5 BB And somtime limp beacuse TT is not so good hand when you get alot of callers but plays great heds up. If you would have limped and then might the rest of the table limp then you have already lost the hand waist of a good hand. So raise and thin the feild. Maybe all in isnt so bad play if the blinds is like 200/100. Beacuse you have only 12BB so you will lamost for sure play for your hole stack anyway. It is what i think but if you dont like or dont trust me so dont beacuse i am not so good. Maybe some great player can help yu better. |

Re: TT, utg. Played terrible. How do I play this preflop?
I think the raise you made was fine. I don't like limping here, as the money is not deep enough to play for a set and you are in a difficult situation if you are raised. A bigger raise makes you too pot committed here.
Pushing is playable, since the chance that anyone has a higher pair is not that great. If you get called by 2 overcards, you are a significant favorite plus pot odds with a lot of money in. I would check/fold that flop or maybe make a smaller continuation bet. You don't like to see 2 overcards flop. What can you beat? AJ has outs. Would villain call with a smaller pp? I would probably fold to the raise on the flop. You probably only have 2 outs. |
