Default Taking a shot at David Ross (poor guy)...

... then wishing he'd take a shot at me.

Party 3-6.
David raises UTG. Folded to me, I re-raise with black fives. Folded back to him, he calls.

Flop 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] .

He checks. He knows enough about me that I think it's best if I bet out. He calls -- seems unlikely that he's got A [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] . I suppose A [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] and A [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] are still possible, but nonetheless, when the turn is

9 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img]

and he checks, I check behind.

River 6 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] . He checks and calls.

Comments?

(David, whose posts are one of the best things on this forum by the way, held A [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] .)

Turn check is no bueno unless it's one of those--I know him-he knows me-he's drawing dead anyways-he'll fold on the turn if I bet-he might bluff the river-he'll definitely call my river bet if I check turn--kinda things, which is what it looks like.

If each of you perceives the other as a solid player I can't say I agree with his call on the river. There are essentially no hands you would have three-bet him with preflop that he can beat except *maybe* AJs or KQs, both of which are unlikely candidates for a preflop 3-bet here.

Agreed. That's was a bad time to call with Ace high, especially AQ.

I luv it.

p.s. David should fold on the flop here if you are perceived as solid 100% of the time IMO.

Lol, is David aware he is being critiqued for his bad call here? He didn't even post the hand...
