I\'m just not good enough to make this fold
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) converter
CO ($102.10) Button ($101.70) SB ($31.75) Hero ($110.70) UTG ($55.40) MP ($50) Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.50, MP calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: ($2) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">SB bets $2</font>, Hero calls $2, UTG folds, MP calls $2. Turn: ($8) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">SB bets $6</font>, Hero calls $6, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to $47.5</font>, SB calls $23.25 (All-In), Hero calls $41.50. River: ($132.25) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players, 1 all-in)</font> Final Pot: $132.25 I know I should have folded. I even called time and chatted that I had 3 10s and knew I was up against the straight. Ugh. I also know that I misplayed this hand brutally, from start to finish. Though I'm not sure a typical 5xBB gets MP to lay down QK ... and I'm not sure anything but an all-in on the flop gets him out of the hand there, either. |

Rz $3 pf.
Given your action, rz to $8 on flop. This turn action reminds me of a recent El Diablo post about a similiar situation. His line was, 'throw in the $, check to see if you won or not, and move on to the next hand.....' |

Re: I\'m just not good enough to make this fold
You have a strong redraw just in case anyway. J9 might push here, maybe even a strangely limped overpair like QQ, and I strongly believe 99 and 55 would. KQ and 78 seem the most likely hands but you have a decent chance of pairing the board and taking the huge pot anyway. Good players don't make this fold unless they've played thousands and thousands of hands with the villain and know he needs the nuts here every time.
While you might be disregarding the posts that criticize your earlier streets, they make a very valid point. You are far too worried about the wrong street. You failed to raise preflop with a premium hand in a limped pot. You also failed to raise a not-so-safe flop with middle set. These kinds of mistakes affect your winrate (which is the true measure of skill) far more than calling that turn all-in. |

Raise PF.
Raise on the flop. The turn and river will play differently. |
