Re: Heads-Up versus Mr. Push (Almost) Every Hand
1) Mr. push > Mr.fold HU
2) Youre better off pushing every hand. |

Re: Heads-Up versus Mr. Push (Almost) Every Hand
I just want to ask, how many of you that want to call in hand 4 would have done so with out seeing all the other hands?

[ QUOTE ] I just want to ask, how many of you that want to call in hand 4 would have done so with out seeing all the other hands? [/ QUOTE ] I agree, hand 4 is a fold. [/ QUOTE ] If by "without seeing all the other hands", you mean I really don't know anything about this guy, then I fold, certainly, because most players don't actually push as much as they should, and the range of a typical player, at least at lower levels, is ahead of Q6 by enough to fold. But that's kind of a silly way to look at this question -- we're taking as given that villain is hyper-aggressive HU, and even just given the first few hands (say, the first three, the ones listed before the hand in question), I'm confident enough in that assessment to go with it. Given that, I'd say Q6 is a call, because (at a guess -- I don't have pokerstove at hand to run the numbers) it's close enough to even against any two (or a slightly more reasonable "almost any two" range) that the blinds make it worth going after. Close, I would guess, and I wouldn't condemn someone folding here, but I can't imagine it's a big mistake either way. |

Re: Heads-Up versus Mr. Push (Almost) Every Hand
Well I come across a lot of players that seem perfectly normal until they get HU and then turn into push-bots. I'm not ready to conclude that calling with Q6o is a profitable play after 3 hands, one of which he folded.
(In this spot he needs to be pushing 65% to make it a call) |

Re: Heads-Up versus Mr. Push (Almost) Every Hand
Top 50% of HU hands yes, and this is a much diff set than the usual top 50 with hands like A3o going way up in value.
You shouldn't be limping your SB vs this guy unless you are trapping. Raising him a small amount with the intention of folding is equally retarded. Open push or fold, or raise with the intention of calling a push. Also this guy will fold to pressure, he plays like me HU (and like you probably should) and he's all about FE. If you open push he's got a tight range. |

Re: Heads-Up versus Mr. Push (Almost) Every Hand
Thanks everyone for helpful replies. Now that I look back on the entire HH of this match, I think the small raises I was throwing in (~2.5BB) were a vestige of the Villain folding to such raises of his BB from the other villain when 3 handed, and something that should (now) obviously not have made it into my HU approach. I realize the fold was terrible there (J5 hand) and I can only blame 4-tabling, which is equally bad and a leak! I appreciate the help in plugging the leaks.
