Worse: (at poker)

Having dealer muck your winning hand and pot going to someone else. (circumstances vary)

Legend has it that:
TJ Cloutier apparently got his hand mucked once, and other guy in the pot didn't notice, so TJ acted like he still had cards (big man, big hands helped) bet the river, and he folded.

If playing online and switching windows, and accidentally clicking FOLD, that could be another. (did it once.......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!)

Feel better about the 1 outer yet?

Yep, I got worse and you will to eventually.

These two hands happened within a couple of hours of each other.
1) Aces full of kings beat by royal (lost $64)
2) Aces full of 5s beat by quad 5s (lost $35)

The quads, I don't feel bad about. We both played correctly and I just lost to a better hand.

The royal was a serious suck-out.

like i said before, having a royal suckout isn't worse in my opionion. At least the guy had a decent hand to beat you with, my guy only had Ace high. Did he go all in before catching his royal? And the guy with quads at least had one of the quad cards in his hand right?

The answer to this question is yes. In one of my first hands in a party skin, NL 50 (don't feel like finding the hand history), I had AA and flopped A 9 5 rainbow heads up after I raised preflop, and someone pushed all in. He had 44 and hit running 2 3 for the straight. So at least in your scenerio, the guy had a real hand, this guy pushed into my top set with virtually no draws and hit a running double gut shot straight.

the board could run off 5 5, or A A and you lose on both.

ive had JJ on a board of J 3 3 and lost to TT. the difference is running 3's make a split, so the second case is slighty worse

but this almost never happens so just disregard it

Bet more on the turn.

You bet small amount and he smelled weakness and tried to bluff you. Bet more there and he either calls or folds. You win, unless the 4th 5 comes up...and then just try to lose as little amount of money as you can!

Also, he could have had quad 5's on the turn.. I know it's rare, but it could happen.

Me: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]:7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

TheRedPill bets his life savings of $104.17 into $1 pot, so he won't get sucked out on, leaving himself with a mere $1.25 for the bus ride home.

I push for his last $1.25. (fold equity!)

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
