Re: Top 2 on monotone board. Push?
Why? Is the bluffer going to call my bet?
I'm not going to get bluffed out of the pot if I'm already all-in. |

Re: Top 2 on monotone board. Push?
From readinfg your responses to the previous post you seem to have your mind made up that you made the right move. Anybody that calls your all in has you beat. a lone ace does not call here unless maybe the an ace with the Q of diamonds. any made flush or set has you beat. I pot it and see what happens.

Re: Top 2 on monotone board. Push?
Betting the pot still gives a single Diamond incorrect odds. It also doesn't push out a single Diamond that you WANT calling your pot sized bet. Betting all in here will more often than not fold out the hands you want calling. Meanwhile, it keeps in everything you want folding.

[/ QUOTE ] i thought my post was very straightforward. there is a big flaw in your thinking here. if someone might bluff you that's a reason for betting the pot and CALLING a raise rather than just going allin and having no chance of being bluffed. if you're willing to go allin here why are you afraid of being bluffed? |

Re: Top 2 on monotone board. Push?
Fair enough. I think you are right.
Now if someone comes over the top what's your play? Do you call? |

Re: Top 2 on monotone board. Push?
That's player dependant. I really don't think checking behind on flop and getting active on blank turn is bad either.

I think slightly over pot here is fine. I think Ryan's primary thinking here is that the only hands he's worried about calling him here are Jd10d and AA or KK which is unlikely considering the cards and the board. So it's doubtful that many hands are going to have him beat here. The major problem is having having a good enough read if someone decides to come over the top here, but again, I think if someone does in this situation you are likely beat and can let the hand go because Qd appears to be a longshot to be in this hand, all though QQ is a possible holding. Bad play Ryan. But I will still give you a hug to make you feel better k? |

this is a good way to lose a stack to a slowplayed flush. [/ QUOTE ] slowplayed flush? Considering the pre-flop action, what hands do you think are likely here at this point? |

Re: Top 2 on monotone board. Push?
Because if he bets the pot here, he can't possibly call a push. While I believe pushing here has a very negative expectation because it only gets called by better hands, Ryan does make a valid point in that, if he does infact have the best hand, it keeps him from getting pushed off of it.

Re: Top 2 on monotone board. Push?
the one with 107 behind might have any suited connectors as he's got a vpip of 35......
as for the others, i don't see them having it, you're right i'll just say that i wouldn't push this flop.... |
