out of position with an overpair
Horrible hand, played with impaired judgement after another villain turned a set to beat my flopped top set.
I didn't want to lay it down on the flop, but wasn't sure how to go from there. K seemed like a good card to bet out on. I think my flop and turn bets were too small. I guess I fold here? What's a good line for the hand? Villain 30%/10%, no reads. Re: out of position with an overpair
Bet pot on flop.
JJ OOP on an unders flop right after a big bad beat is on financial suicides payroll. I'm incredibly paranoid about this hand nowadays if I'm worried I might be soft steaming. As played call river. |

Flop: ($10) 8, 2, 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, UTG raises to $15, Hero calls $10. Turn: ($40) K (2 players) Hero bets $20, UTG calls $20. this standard faire for you? if so i can increase your winrate vastly in one easy step. fim |

Re: out of position with an overpair
No, I'd normally pot the flop with a hand like this OOP. I don't know what I was thinking. Guess I was timid having just dropped a stack.
I thought the K was a good card for me. A pot sized-bet would pot-commit me though, and again I was being timid. If I had potted the flop, and he raised to say 25, would i fold? Given the flop underbet, is betting out on the turn the correct play, for $30 or $40? |

Re: out of position with an overpair
I called the river, and villain showed KK, and MHI not even nearly G.
If I'd bet the pot on the flop and got raised to 25 say, should I defend against a standard player? Or is this a fold? |
