Default Heads up hand

All i really know of villain here is that he's pretty tight pre-flop. I dont have much heads up experience so want to check my line here. I figured the flop missed us both so unless hes got a pocket pair im ahead and maybe he'll even fold a medium pair like TT or JJ if I lead out.

Looks fine to me - if he's pretty tight it looks like a suited AQ or another AKo? Leading out to try and get someone to fold an overpair on the flop will never work

Yeah, that was a bit hopeful I guess but mainly I thought there was a good chance i was ahead and was pretty certain my outs were good if I wasnt. As it turned out he was holding QQ, which surprised me because he didnt cap or raise me on the flop.

What's your river plan UI?

Thing is that the turn bet was based on the idea that plenty people will call a flop bet hoping to improve but not a turn bet, after the turn I'm fairly ( 80% ) sure he has something. Given the pot size I'd bet anyway and fold to a raise given that if I check I'd call a bet. Might as well give him a final chance to fold if he's still hanging in there. I might be less likely to bet if J or Q fall though, check call there perhaps.

Like I said though I have little heads up experience so this might not be a good line on the river UI. I think I had to bet the turn, failure to follow through on the flop bet I think gives to much initiative away, I'd sooner have the chance of folding him than have to decide to fold myself.

I would check/call your river UI.

If your opponent is timid and might not bet the river himself if you check, I would not want to value bet his hand for him on the occassions that he had a pocket pair.

If you bet the river UI, you would most likely only win if he had been calling with AQ or at best chop with AK.

Your line looks good to me. I play it the same. Hoping he will fold TT or JJ if you lead out is dreaming though.
