Best book on no limit hold em
Hi I have several books on no limit hold em.(harrington vo1 and 2, hellmuth's, cloutier's) It seems like skalansky gets alot of respect as an author around here, but it seems like all his books are based on limit. I prefer no limit play and I was wondering if any of his books are on no limit play?

Re: Best book on no limit hold em
Sklanksy has been working on a no limit cash game book that is supposed to be out fairly soon.

ah a no limit cash game book, enticing. that would be pretty sweet. are any of his books like a must read or anything even if I strictly play no limit?

no kidding? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, it is to be called "Theory and Practice of No Limit Hold 'Em" and is by Miller and Sklanksy. It's been promised for a while, but I guess they are still not done. |

Forget Cloutiers book, forget hellmuths book, all you need are PL/NL by ciaffone/reuben and TOP by sklansky.

Re: Best book on no limit hold em
Why do people need to burn their heads in books? All you need to do is learn the simple basic strategies that are limited by what he call mathematics, study your players and play accordingly. Add some special moves, mix up your play, avoid being a "type" of player, find a few fishy places to play and make $20-50+ an hour comfortably. Your energy burned into try to make it to the WSOP final table vs your expected return [E(x)= $*p(x)] is negative.
For as far as you know you could run into some millionaire for whom your limit is peanuts and is just having fun going all-in with 27o and showing it. You're not gonna get AA/KK/AKs every hand to call him. My two cents |
