Default .25/.50 home game

Hero is on the BB with the table covered and A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. A few loose limpers, hero raises $2 more ($2.50 total), three callers. It's 6 handed at this time.

Flop comes K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]:.
Checked to villian, who leads $5, hero calls?

Villian is usually tight, has been playing pretty "drunk loose aggressive". Is quite drunk, but seems pretty confident.

Turn, 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], villian pushes for $40.25, hero ?

Online, this play is always made by someone with the nuts who thinks a donkey will call him drawing dead with a one pair hand.

In home games it is made by people who saw it work online.
IMHO.

I have a "general" image of a maniac, and a "local" image of a TAG player. I have check called top pair a couple of times, laid down a couple pretty decent holdings. I am also laughing like a mad man because the table is hilarious and we are joking.

I am winning huge tonight, and am probably viewed as playing tightly, but being a loose player.

Sounds like a fun game. I wish I could put together a regular game with success like this.

As for the hand, I think this is a comfortable fold. Smells like KJ (I'll guess all red, and probably matching).

You haven't invested much in the hand, and I think you are drawing to 3 outs. Lay it down and tell a dirty anecdote about villain so you can at least win while folding.

What was your reason for checking the flop? I was hoping you were going for a checkraise. I don't like the check call here.

But I don't really don't like the check up front in the first place. I'm leading at this flop, if I want this group to respect my continuation bets.

I'd probably lead the pot and see what he does. If he smoothcalls, I lead $10 on the turn.

If he raises either the flop or the turn, and I've been a nice winner so far in this game as you describe (and want to keep being so), I probably put him all-in (or call his all-in). I want these guys to know that I'm not raising five BB's preflop just so I can check/fold TPTK when two Broadway cards and a one-gapper straight is on board.

If you play this hand strongly, you'll win back many times over whatever you lose on this hand. I don't think there's any real reason to try tricky play against these guys. I'd rather be the one in the driver's seat.
