Re: need a sanity check with these hands
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] with no read on the opponent, what would you expect from the typical $10 player ? i was thinking AK, AQ, AJ or any pair TT+.....? [/ QUOTE ] From what I've seen, that's about right (with the occasional lower pair thrown in). JJ and AJ are unlikely, and you're only well ahead of TT in this range once you remove those two. [/ QUOTE ] Remember, there's a big difference between pushing and calling an all-in. If you were going to call an all-in in Hand 1, then you probably should have pushed to begin with. Your stack was too big to really do that, so you took your shot at a raise, and now have to fold. You still have enough chips for this. Hand #2, villain will call anyways. Your hand might have been good enough to open push, but not enough to push against a caller who will call with any 2 cards. Hand #3. Standard. |

Hand 2 - Does a stop and go hold any merit here?

Hand 2 - Does a stop and go hold any merit here? [/ QUOTE ] Nope. If you call you commit half your stack and are giving him 2-1 on the flop no matter what falls. Plus this is the 10s and Stop and Go=Fancy Play Syndrome. |

Re: need a sanity check with these hands
Hand 1 - at the tens you're probably looking at a AQ/AJ or worse hand (it could be the big ones, but b/c AA/KK/QQ are less likely, and it was a push vs. some other type of raise designed to get you to call) so i am fine with the call there, if you're looking to gambool.
Hand 2 - fold. Hand 3 - push/fold. |
