#1. This is NOT a dry side pot. DN bet ~12k on the turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

What I meant when I referred to the dry side pot was that DN wouldn't bet into a dry pot without an ace. But I agree with the rest of what you said.

Also another reinforcing point is that if it's worth it to bet the turn with an Ace, it's correct to bet the river with AA.

Well, Daniel had an A and Forest checked behind and won the hand. There is only one hand that does that.

[/ QUOTE ]

or any hand with the case 6.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is no way Ted ever checks the case 6.

[/ QUOTE ]

the point was that hands other than AA can win the pot at a showdown. also, you wouldn't have thought he'd check with Aces full either, would you?

[/ QUOTE ]
Which other hands win this pot at showdown on a 663A6 board vs 666AA?

[/ QUOTE ]

look at the original quoted post - the original post says that Daniel had Ax in his hand vs. a 663A6 board yet Ted wins the pot upon showdown. then the original post that only one hand (AA) can beat Ax at showdown. My post says that's not true since 6x can also beat Ax upon showdown.

Fin.

If Forrest bets on the end, what is the likelihood that DN is tricky enough to check-raise without the 6 to try to push him off of an A?

In this type of event: 0%
in a deep stack event:.001%

Just too hard to rep a 6 here after calling off 15% of your stack in the BB and checking the river.

So if Ted knows that Daniel has to have a A or 6 on the turn, and knows that there is a 0% chance of him raising the river with just an A, he can feel safe folding to a river c/r?

Yeah, lousy check. Even if DN checks a 6 pf, much more likely DN will have A here than 6.

[/ QUOTE ]

Mathematically, it's equally likely that he has 6 or an Ace.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe mathematically, but...

Realistically, its much more likely that he overcalled an all in with a hand that contains an ace, not a hand that contains a 6. 66 perhaps, but that would be an impossible holding in this case.

You're right, Daliman. It's highly unlikely he would check the nuts on the river. It's also unlikely he would call with 6 anything after a all in and a cold call since his implied odds are cut down by the side pot and the stacks aren't that deep relative to the fast rising blinds.

Trying to be sneaky, eh? DN would never check 6666 on this river, so the point is fairly moot.

Ted Forest played Hamid Dastmalachi, 92 WSOP champ, for 100 hours at 600-1200 limits. They stopped when Hamid had to be taken off in a stretcher, not because of sleep deprevation neccecarily, but because of the 50+ packs of cigarettes he chain-smoked during the match.

IM still amazed that this came from a player who once played a heads up freeze out for 100,000 for many days straight before the other pro had to be sent to the hospital. (If anyone remembers this story, please refresh my memory!)

[/ QUOTE ]

yes, vs. Hamid Dastmalchi. The match finally ended because Distmalchi was taken away in an ambulance from smoking too much during the match. The joke, or maybe it's real, is that he smoked something like a carton of cigarettes or however much it was over that time and lit only one match.
