small holes i found in my game
i found some small holes in my game from the $20 NL Hold'em home game tourney with about 20 people, 4 making the money. There were re-buys and add-ons available.
i placed 3rd, which earned me 20% of the prize pool. anyway, here are the holes i found: 1. i was hesitant on making some calls or raises 2. i backed down to a lot of re-raises 3. i had trouble keeping track of how much was in the pot 4. i called more often than I was raising 5. folded my SB just about every time, and my BB to raises 7. when I was weak, I moved around a little more than usual and i seemed very nervous how do i fix these? is there anything i can do when i am weak? i'm so nervous, lol. |

Re: small holes i found in my game
1. Be less hessitant on making some calls or raises.
2. Don't back down to a lot of re-raises. 3. Learn to add and multiply. 4. Raise more often than calling. 5. Don't fold your SB just about every time, and your BB to raises. 6. This is a tough one, try the Philosophy forum. 7. Start pretending to be nervous when you are strong, as well. |

Re: small holes i found in my game
lol i know how to add and multiply, i just don't have much experience in b&m and home games.
and for #7, isn't there a way where i can be calm during every hand i play without having to fake being nervous? |

Re: small holes i found in my game
1. Push-in
2. Push-in 3. Ask dealer for a pot count every time it's your turn, even if you plan to fold 4. Push-in 5. Push-in 6. Hey what happened to 6? 7. Wear an elmo head |

Re: small holes i found in my game
1. Read Theory of Poker. Learn implied, reverse implied, and pot odds. You won't be hesitant any longer.
2. This is probably not a bad thing. 3. Get a book on algebra. 4. Raise and fold more, call less. 5. Defend your blinds and learn to fold second-best hands. 6. Sklansky knows something about this, something about God, I think. 7. Paul Phillips has a good drug for you, look him up. |

come on dude, be serious. [/ QUOTE ] Okay. Pretty much every issue you had while playing sounds like you were nervous to play in a b&m tournament. Get more practice and these problems will go away. |

Re: small holes i found in my game
your playing too loose first of all
by playing tight especially in a tournament you keep yourself from having to make too many decisions by playing tight your card almost play themselfs also when you play a hand you need to be playing agressive when i play in a tournament i almost never call i always want to be the aggressor this forces your opponents to make the tricky decisions instead of you |
