My first instinct says "call down, fold to fourth heart, be cautious vs. paired board." This might be incredibly weak, but it's the first thing I can think of that seems to extract the most / lose the least.

would it be a bad play to raise all in?

[ QUOTE ]
would it be a bad play to raise all in? [/ QUOTE ] This depends on whether you have any look up artists at the table. If not, I think you're losing a lot of value here when behind. I like leading out on this flop personally. If you get raised, call and then lead again on a non [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] non pairing turn. |

i can't imagine any sane person calling a bet over 10X the pot with anything that you beat. so while a check raise of a significant amount is a decent play, an allin might as well be a bluff, cause only better hands will call.

push the turn, after a call on flop and rag turn? or is pushing in this situation not a good play being i could be behind badly?

if i decided to call him down. At what point would I surrender to a higher flush? Or do i have to call him down with all my chips? I guess I want to know is there a way to get away from this hand if my opponent also has a flush and rags fall on turn and river?

No, no, keep your bets reasonable! Again, nobody's calling with anything you beat with that stuff.

Should I fold to a big raise by him on a ragged turn? For instance for all my chips. I guess I want to know is there a way to get away from this hand if my opponent also has a flush and rags fall on turn and river?

This is a tough spot, as with any potential big reverse implied odds situation, and would really be alleviated by a read.
Is villain reasonably tight-aggressive? Checkraise the flop, find out where you stand. A good player putting in action on this flop has probably got you in a serious reverse-implied bind. Hyperaggressive / donkish? Call down. I pay a dumb-ish LAG off here in a flush over flush situation. Get really worried only if a fourth heart comes. Against a very passive player I would strongly consider fold or perhaps calling / folding to a turn bet. |
