Quote from his blog

"Also, I am starting to realize how often I misplay as a result of having 12 tables open. I think it won’t be a problem once I get a 3rd monitor and don’t have any overlap, but I’ll stick to 8 tables for a while, or maybe experiment with 10 a little bit."

Get. Third. Monitor. Now.

$300/hr playing poker as your job != millionaire by 27.

IIRC Justin quoted that he made ~100k from poker last year on the EPT broadcast (don't know what stakes he was playing so I can't weigh that versus what he's doing this year). Consider living expenses, and it's pretty easy to see that becoming a millionaire is tough in poker. That doesn't mean ZJ isn't capable of acquiring large sums of wealth by 27, it just means it'll come harder through poker then say, real estate. Of course, this is just my opinion.

I am not sure what this is suppose to mean.

it means that poker is a very volatile living, and is great for kids you and zj's age as you do not yet have very many responsibilities. as you grow up and start getting more and more responsibilities, a steady supply of incoming funds is more of a necessity. furthermore, (taking nothing away from zj) staying on top of your game for that long of a time is a very very difficult thing to do. there are very few people who make millions on a yearly basis playing poker, that is what my comment is supposed to mean.

Yeah, but:

real estate: a fluxing beast with capital gains taxes and hastle and "the BUBBLE" and there's no World Champion of real estate
poker: you win all the money in the world and crush the peons.

much much harder. take all of the pros on this board, and show me one who makes millions on a yearly basis. i think that you would be hard pressed to do so. (even raymer despite his strong shot at making the final table this year).

$2k is almost exactly what my second child cost.

First one was free as I had better insurance at the time.

I think you should be working diligently towards your financial independence while you can. This is an opportunity that not many people ever get in life.

seriously, go get a couple of houses, rent them out, sell them repeat, youd be a millionaire by 27

Real Estate: How 80% of the richest people in America got wealthy. Low risk, high reward, lots of tax breaks, etc....

If you don't want the hassle of being a landlord, buy some vacant land and sit on it for a few years. You'll be set for life.

I think I've seen that figure put at around $300k. No idea if it's credible or not.

Based on the ultrasound I saw today, I'd better stop posting and get back to owning the SnGs...

Your $2k dog isn't maintenance free either, and they don't last as long.

Besides, I already have my 5 year old beating the $11s.
