Given that there is a very good chance that Phil has AA, I would call. I think if you raise you let him off with QQ.

If there is a "very good chance" he has AA, a read you're only making because the poster posted this hand, you should consider folding.

Pretty sure this is an easy push.

I'm check pushing any non-ace/queen/king flop. If he has the aces that's life.

This was day 1 and he did twice fold pocket Kings when he was reraised.

If he really wont call an all in preflop here with anything but aces, there is no point in going all in. Just call and check raise all in on any non ace flop. I think someone said that already.

Flat call and get it in on any non-A flop. Who knows, he may even fold aces to a checkraise...and I don't see much if any EV in pushing now.

Pretty much says it all.

Just push. This is late position action. Hellmuth doesn't need anywhere near a big pair to reraise and he won't put you on one if you push. Hellmuth will probably call the push with like 2-1 pot odds. If he doesn't call, you don't mind picking up the pot. You might wind up losing the hand, particularly if he has an ace. Trapping is silly, as the money isn't deep enough.

Even if it was early position action, the money isn't deep enough to worry about whather your kings are beaten by aces.

Agree.
Also if he releases, it's in his head.
What's better than being in his head.

Not only is Hellmuth able to fold a whole bunch of stuff you don't want him to even at 2:1, getting into his head this way is like spending 30 minutes breaking into an unlocked house.

Depends on your strategy in the tournament. If you intend play a survival game, push here and take down the 1400(if he has AA, he's got AA).

Considering PH isn't calling here without the nuts, you can go the high variance route and call check-push non-A flop...but then you risk the possibility of going broke in the event he flops a big hand or outdraws you after committing himself. I personally like the call, check-raise line as he might end up committing himself on the flop given your stack...I think you need to do everything you can to double up here before 150-300 w Ante.

Even though this is Hellmuth, with 2-1 pot odds and CO vs. button action, he doesn't need the nuts to call. Unless he reraised with junk, it would be hard to fold here.

There was a similar situation at the 2002 WSOP where Varkonyi raised from the button with QTs, Hellmuth reraised from the BB with AKs, Varkonyi made an overbet push, and Hellmuth called.

And all that shows is that PH reads players well.

I'd rather not give him the opportunity to read me for KK.

Then there's alway the story you can tell your grandchild about how you went into the flop with PH, and this is how the hand played out. It will be a much better story.

I would rather gamble to double up too.
