Wonderblind folds. irishaces08 does not show cards. irishaces08 wins 730 chips Game #2354315128 starts. Is this too aggressive? I'm almost positive I'm ahead and want to raise, but can't invest much without going all the way. I'm sort of tied to bet/call the flop in spite of overs, so I push. I'm pretty sure I'll get called (usually by worse hands) about half the time at this level. Is this a good, decisive approach or an "I have QQ but don't want to win anything with them" approach?" |

Yes.
Why risk all your chips for the blinds? At that point, a re-raise for $120-150 would be standard for me at the 5s. So many people bust with pre-flop pushes in the early levels- why be one of them? |

Raise it to 150-175.

Yeah...I'm extremely uncomfortable being down almost 1/4 stack in the first round given that much of my game relies on people folding to my pushes in the later rounds (unless I get a big hand I can play strongly and build my chips). So I was definately playing scared here and end up looking like the guys I always chuckle at. I'll try to keep my head on straight next time. How do I go about this postflop? Pot-sized bet with no A/k? Push to a raise? What about K/A high flop? (sorry to be so akward about this, usually i'm better playing these pairs with a fuller stack)

If you think you are going to get called by aq/jj/tt then push.
I dunno, at the 5+1's and 10+1's I think you can never fold QQ preflop and be profitable. Just raise it to 150 and call a push, if he calls and the flop comes bad (an A or AK) and he bets at you, you can still fold. A king is much less scary though. |

A lot of times, you're going to be folding A and K high flops. That's ok. But, you can also do a few contuination bets and shut down from there.
You can call down if you feel your opponent doesn't have anything. Postflop, unless a K or A shows up, I'm pushing and getting people out of a sizable pot. |

If you get called then you are risking all your chips to double your chips. All you fear are KK's and AA's then big slick and you face a coin flip vs AK. Pushing is not all that horrible. -- tjh |
