Default Mother of bad beats?

Thought I'd share for those unbelievers. Lost straight flush on 2-4 at Party last night to a higher straight flush BOTH FLOPPED! I had pocket A,2 spades he had pocket 5,6. Flop 2,3,4.
Anyone facile with the odds? I'd like to know the odds against this happening. Had fun so not whining-just interested.Thanks.

This is impossible. You don't have a straight on this flop, nevermind a straight flush.

What position were you in? Unless you were in middle or late position in an unraised pot with a lot of limpers, you shouldn't have been in the pot in the first place. There, saved you the bad beat. Quit fagging up SS.

If you're going to be a jerk you should at least make sure your advice is right.

If my rudimentary math is correct, your odds of flopping the high end of a straight flush are a little over 13,000-1. The odds of someone having 2 specific cards out of 47 is 2070-1. So the odds of both happening are a little over 27 million-1.

I suppose the odds are even higher if we figure in the chance that you actually had proper suited connectors in the first place. But they'd be lower if the hand was being played more than 2 ways...

At any rate, if this actually happened to you, it's prima facie evidence that online poker is rigged.

I think you can cut it down by a factor of 9 or so... Any of hero's 9 opponents could have the other two perfect cards.

So it's still like a few trillion to one or something.

But that is neither here nor there.
