Re: Jumping ahead in line
I've been sorely tempted to, but have not followed through, it just didn't seem right.
The thing I can't stand is when I put my name on a list, it goes somewhere into the queue, and after an hour or two you realize they probably put down the wrong initials for you. This has happened to me multiple times(maybe its my southern accent). |

Re: Jumping ahead in line
i've done it without a whole lot of second thought - if i make the hour+ drive + tolls to the casino and the games i came to play have lists a mile long, i'm getting into a game - not my fault if the other million people dont think of this idea too.... theres a reason the people they call for the game dont show up, because they already got seated elsewhere or left - i'm willing to try and wait through 15-20 people but any more than that, and i'm whoever the next guy's initials are

Re: Jumping ahead in line
Maybe the other million people thought of it, but they realized (1) that the people who paid tolls etc. and got there earlier should get into the game first and (2) if everyone starts doing this, the whole list system will collapse.

Re: Jumping ahead in line
as i said about it in a thread a week ago, i rarely do it - but in the scenario where i need to (hours of wait), i will and i wont feel bad about it....

Re: Jumping ahead in line
If it ever became a major issue, they could always just ID you at the signup desk, and track it that way. I can't see that making too many people happy, so why abuse the system the way it is. Signup for Omaha or Stud or something while you are waiting, play insanely tight, and then move in a couple of hours when they call you for hold'em.

Justifiable Homicide or if you are against the Death Penalty, you can just have them "Caponed".

If I get caught up and can't leave early enough, I pretty much abort my trip to Foxwoods, because I don't want to deal with the wait. The line-jumpers have become a major part of that wait. |

Re: Jumping ahead in line
I've only done it once, and it was only because the dude had the same initials as me. I knew it wasn't me yet, but I sure could play dumb if they somehow figured it out. FWIW I probably wouldn't do it otherwise (always leave yourself outs) but I am also a wuss about those kinds of things.

Re: Jumping ahead in line
I agree. I can't believe so many people think they are above everyone else and "deserve" to jump lines. Yes, long lines suck. No that does not mean you get to screw over everyone else, no matter what excuses you might come up with to justify it.

Re: Jumping ahead in line
If they'd note the color of your shirt next to your initials, it would cut down on a lot of this. Not foolproof, but faster than dealing with IDs.
