By checking and calling, I build a big pot while still not knowing where I am in the hand, which is what leads to losing 100 big blinds. When the $380 goes in on the flop I am way ahead, but for all I know in other cases the enemy already has 55, 44 or TT by the flop, and it is hard to pass when he fires in another $720 on the fourth card. |

Re: Misplayed AA $10/$20 NLHE - help
Hi,
I generally want to keep the pot small here, if I bet, pot gets bigger and a big bluff becomes more likely. Maybe the mistake was actually mostly on the turn, I had a *bad* feeling when he bet $720 and I should have passed there. |

Re: Misplayed AA $10/$20 NLHE - help
if you were gona small ball your aces, then you would've goin broke no matter what.
folding aces on a board of 4-5-10-9 to 1 bet is just crazy talk. |

Re: Misplayed AA $10/$20 NLHE - help
Since you decided to check this flop you need to C-R the pot. Just calling is just plain awful. Your AA is best here way more than itīs behind to a set. raise and take the pot down right now. If called you push the turn no matter what...

Villian raise first and you reraised him. he either has nothing (AK/AQ type hand) or has a smaller pair than yours. This is a hand you want to play for you stack with. Bet the flop or check raise it and if you check raise...do it big enough to commit yourself and more importantly, commit him. I like the title of the thread. |

*** the check-call on the flop is ok, but then checkraise the turn bc your money is going to get in, at least try to get it in while youre ahead in most cases. losing the hand sucks, i hate getting stacked by the enemy. |

Re: Misplayed AA $10/$20 NLHE - help
I don't understand check raising or check calling the flop. This shows way too much strength.
Just lead, hope he has JJ+, raises you, and you stack him. |
