Why it sucks to stroll in late sometimes

I got moved to Layne's table at about 4pm (he looked horrible, btw). At the time, he had about $10K in chips, and was just starting to get aggressive with them. Of the first three hands I was at the table, Layne moved all-in three times (unfortunately, the first one was against me, and I had to lay down what in retrospect was probably the best hand). After the third hand, Layne had more than doubled up to around $27K and announced, "I'm going to sleep now" and left the table.

Didn't see him again until after the dinner break...
