[ QUOTE ]
Would you check with AK as well? Hero's equity edge against a random limper is excellent.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's hard to argue about getting your money in with an edge in pf equity, but wonder whether it should be applied in all situations.

How you have to play a hand HU OOP to win it may be much different than having to play and win it with position multi-way. It's sometimes easier to win out of the BB with nothing against an EP limper not having represented a big hand pf.

That's not to say you never raise with it, just not auto raising it. And not just for meta-game either. Just simply how you'll have to play the hand to win it. I'm not talking about AA-JJ. I'd raise those hands in that spot everytime.

I may be wrong, I don't know, but think it makes some sense.

I think you MUST bet here. Villain did nothing but call so far, so there is no point to give him any credit beating you now. If he raises, I call without a read.

Default why bet/call river?

i don't understand why we would call a river raise. are we basically hoping for a pure bluff? otherwise, i don't see him value raising a hand worse than hero's hand.

For bluff and metagame considerations.

Your betting here is for value. He's going to call with alot worse hands. Your calling here because if you are raised, you are getting 8-1 on your call, which means you only have to be ahead 12.5% of the time for your call to be profitable.

Echoing "bet and call a raise" sentiments.

not read a response.....bc this seems pretty straightforward to me.

Easy river value bet.

Villain is unknown and he raises river... I fold. If I have a line on someone this answer can become easy bet/call with this guy heads up.

I think a river bet is mandatory here. The bigger question is whether to call a raise. Against a complete unknown I call even if it might be slightly -EV, for read purposes. It's a drawless board and if he's been calling down with a sole overcard then I'd really like to know that for future value betting purposes.

The second scenario doesn't change my thinking on the line I take too much vs. an unknown. You're out of position and an unknown CC's, we just don't know what that CC means yet.
