The correct answer to this surely depends on how frequently the limpers (especially the early ones) will be in there with bigger pairs, and how they will play postflop under each scenario. Sometimes I'll call, and sometimes I'll raise huge.

Raising to 5bb seems roughly similar to pouring gasoline on your bankroll and striking a match, unless you're playing on Celebrity Poker Showdown where you can get called down by people with no pair and no draw on a somewhat regular basis.
