The one thing I got out of reading Ken Warren's book is that, other than the other two aces, 56s is the best hand to have in this particular situation. He won two (or was it 3?) tournamnents with that hand (56s).

I guess it's because if the board comes 8 9 T J, the 67 wins where the 6 5 doesn't.

i feel confident that the correct answer for relatively deepstack play is undoubtedly 22 or slightly higher.
reason being that if you flop a set on a 256 board you are almost always going to double up. if you flop 9Ts on a 8JQ board the player with AA may be able to make an easy laydown. a hand like 67s is also not the correct answer when considering implied odds because its less likely to outflop a small pocket pair and you will have to pay alot of money to see your draw to the river, making the hand less regardless of preflop equity. |
