Default Dan\'s online review copied from RGP

There may have been a little confusion recently that I'd like to clear
up. I am not affiliated with, or paid by any online poker room. I
like Eric Rosenberg, think he is a straight up guy and I've agreed to
play in some celebrity events at www.fabulouspoker.com. Again, I will
not be paid for this, I'm doing it simply because I want to.

I do the majority of my play at pokerstars. In my opinion, they
have done everything right from the get go, and it is currently the
best place to play poker online hands down. Why?

POKERSTARS:
1)Customer support. Unrivaled by any other online room. If you see
ANYTHING fishy they go into great detail, giving a genuine effort to
take your quiery seriously. They'll then promptly give you a detailed
reply, rather than the generic response of "We'll look into it". Then
they thank YOU for bringing it to their attention? Cool.
2)Tournaments. Need I say more? No one is even close in this
department. From sit n' go's to hourly events. The best tournament
software out there by far.
3)Variety. They have 15-30 Omaha H/L that is steady, two 30-60
hold'em's that are steady. As well as $2-$4 pot limit hold'em and
omaha games that are quite regular.
4)Rewards. They actually do give away tons of money to their players
in freerolls. No strings attached, just ask Chris Moneymaker! lol.

PARTYPOKER:
Having said all this, PartyPoker is now the number one site online.
Why? Marketing. They've done a better job than anyone else when it
comes to marketing their product with well thought out promotional
ideas. The first one being the PPM of course. Then, they made a good
investment by airing expensive TV spots that saw their business grow
even more.
In my opinion, there is nothing extra special about the softare.
The 15-30 games however, are simply the best anywhere right now at
that limit. Wow.

PARADISE POKER:
In my opinion, the 20-40 game there is... well, too tough. I don't
feel like I could beat that game unless I was willing to take the game
very seriously and give it 100%. Why bother though, when I can either
play three 15-30's at PartyPoker or two 30-60 games at PokerStars?
I feel like Paradise has dropped the ball a little bit. They have
done little in the way of marketing or adding to the site. Paradise,
as well as all the other sites for that matter should take a page from
PartyPoker(marketing) and PokerStars(product).

FABULOUSPOKER:
Remains to be seen. They seem to have some very good ideas that are
pro player which I like. The software is fine, but it's currently not
up the standards set by the top end sites. If the site continues to
grow, then you can expect to see the software improve. Having said
that, their multi table tournament software is the best I've seen
anywhere (outside of PokerStars of course).

BUGSYCLUB:
Loaded with potential. Despite being a relatively new online
cardroom, their software seems lightning quick. Also, being
associated with Poker School Online insures that they will have a
player base. PokerPages has always been considered the #1 portal for
the poker world for good reason. That can only bode well for
BugsyClub.
Having Mark and Tina involved is a big plus for them. They've come
up with some really neat ideas for BugsyClub with the various leagues
and such.
Similar to PartyPoker, BugsyClub also has one more thing going for
them: they are already an established and trusted online casino.

WSEX:
Was the place to play high limit poker online but the action has
died considerably. Apparantly they've finally made improvements to
the software (it was very poor) but I'm afraid it may be a little too
late? A great concept though, having a sportsbetting/poker room. So
great, that I wouldn't count them out just yet from making a comeback.

ULTIMATEBET:
LOL, don't get me started:-) Needless to say I don't play there and
have no plans to in the future.

So there you have it. My opinions, influenced by my TRUE feelings
and nothing else. Again, I am not paid to endorse any of these sites.
One of the things I value, is the ability to say what I want when I
feel like it. If I were to be paid for example by "PokerPlace" then
obviously I'd be somewhat forced to say, "PokerPlace is the best poker
room online". Doing that, I feel would make my opinion less valuable.
I mean, what would you expect a paid representative to say about
their bosses? Exactly.
The one thing you'll get from me, is my honest opinion. No agenda.
So in closing, I'd give thumbs up to the following:

(thumbs up)
PokerStars
PartyPoker
BugsyClub
FabulousPoker

(no opinion, never played)
Pokerroom
CryptoLogic
PacificPoker
Pokertropolis
GoldenPalace
VictorChandler
PrimaPoker
ThePokerClub
Americas Cardroom

(dropped the ball)
ParadisePoker
PlanetPoker

(thumbs down)
UltimateBet
Ladbrokes (weak software)

U know (or i would like u to know), I like twoplus two a lot cuz it is more theory and hand playing than other sites. I dont understand why there is so much hatred at other chat forums. I just read many of the posts by CGA and I perused thru dan's online review. I feel like there is so much slander over there and non productive posts.

anyway here are my feelings, not all online sites are created equally and not al lare geared towrds the same type of people. I am glad there is diversity and different places we can play. If i could only play at one site I think that it would be a major deterrent for my attitude towards online poker. Sure, I play at one site more frequently than others. Competition among online is not bad, I enjoy receiving the deposit bonuses! Okay this was not well thought out but I dont care

but whats his beef with UB ?

this was a VERY ugly chapter at rgp.

i'm not blowing you off miah, but if you do a google search of rgp with daniel and the UB wpt tourney, you will find all you want to know.

i would guess there are more than a thousand posts in 3 dozen threads that dealt with it, so grab a pack of Camel's and a bottle of tequilla. it will be a looooong read.

btw, when you are done you will realize what i meant when i said i am not blowing you off. it is a long story (very long), and one that has many different versions, depending on the author.

this mess is also a great illustration of how nasty that place can get.

have fun

Ladbrokes has improved their software since they introduced a new client this month. Seems to work faster now than before, but still improvements can be made. The buttons used to call/raise/fold etc. are very small and still some players seem to act slow, this is probably more a problem related to the players than the software. But statistics is added and better graphics among many improvements. But still they cap the rake at $1.50 at the $1-$2 tables...

You're not blowing me off, you're answering my question.

I'll go dig some stuff up later and have a look. I know how bad RGP can get, I used to read RGP quite a bit before I found this place.

Hi flopdanutz:

You wrote:

We've worked very hard to achieve this. We strive for vigorous debate with professionalism.

My understanding is that many Internet forums do degenerate to a few people trading insults, and when that happens everyone losses. An example is much of the response on RGP to Daniel's post that MS Sunshine copied above. Of course, Daniel has brought much of this upon himself with some of his own personal attacks over there. It's a shame, because good discussion on the real issue that's important gets completely loss.

Best wishes,
Mason
