Default Need help sports betting

Can anyone in here direct me to a website with some good information on sports betting? I've signed up at several online poker rooms/casinos through an affiliate and they require you to either wager some money in a casino or place some sports bets before you can withdraw your money.

I would rather just bet on sports instead of wagering money in the casino but I dont understand all the statistics and numbers ("lines"). Can anyone point me in the direction of some good info? Or can anyone here explain to me how to bet on baseball.

Thanks. Your help is much appreciated.

I checked out the link you posted Game, but I dont think that that website contains the sort of information Im looking for.

Im a complete noob when it comes to sports betting. When I look at a table with different teams listed and a bunch of numbers I dont even know how to interpret it. I guess Im kind of looking for a beginners guide to sports betting. Just something to help be better understand what Im looking at.

If you have enything in mind that you think might be helpful I'd really appreciate it you could point me in that direction.

Thanks for your help.

-Mike

Here's a sample line:

Chicago Cubs
M. Prior +1.5 -180 +134 OVER 6.5 -118

Atlanta Braves
J. Smoltz -1.5 +170 -142 UNDER 6.5 +108

Here's what it means. You can bet on any of the following at the following odds:

Braves to win the game by any score: Bet 142 to win 100.
Cubs to win the game by any score: Bet 100 to win 134.
(this bet is called the "moneyline")

Braves to win the game by two runs or more: Bet 100 to win 170.
Cubs to either win the game or to lose by only one run: Bet 180 to win 100.
(this bet is called the "runline")

Seven or more runs to be scored by both teams combined: Bet 118 to win 100.
Six or fewer runs to be scored by both teams combined: Bet 100 to win 108.
(this bet is called a "total")
