Ax preflop in .5/1 6-max

So one thing I've been coming up against a number of times is having Ax in 6-max at the .5-1 tables. I wanted to know what you guys are doing.

Ax in the BB after 2-4 limpers. I usually raise AK, AQ, Axs but everything else I check because I reason that even though my hand may be best (especially with AJ-A9), by raising here I am giving them odds to draw if they flop something when I flop TP. With AK, AQ my hand is so much better I want them to call, and with Axs I want to bloat the pot. Is this reasoning correct?

How about Ax in the SB? I raise the same thing, and complete with A8+ and fold the rest, and if there's only one weak limper I try to raise to isolate with any ace (because I know usually can outplay them postflop). Anyone else play differently here?

How about on the button with limper(s)? With limpers I'll raise AT+ as well as any Axs figuring that with the best hand and position I can make money and protect my hand. Plus there's the possibility that the flop will get checked through if I don't hit (which I'll check through with 2 or more limpers because nobody on party folds the flop after a pfr.)

Any comments?

I don't raise Axs out of the blinds with 2+ limpers. People in this game will limp with any A, and domination just seems too menacing here. I could easily be wrong about this though; I'm still feeling my way through PF play at 6max.

Obviously AQo, ATs etc all get raised.

Isn't it the idea of trading a preflop edge for a postflop edge? When they're calling an 11-1 shot on a 5-1 pot they lose money, but when they call an 11-1 shot on a 14-1 pot they gain money. Or am I completely in left field? But when you hold AQ or AK your edge is so much greater prelop that you do want to raise so that you get 4 people calling 1 SB when their hand will only get maybe .5 SB value compared to the field.

You'd also like to have many people in the pot with a weak Axs to get better pot/implied odds on a potential flush draw on the turn.
