Default Lets all leave Raken alone so he doesn\'t get mad....

What the hell? The series was 1-1 in terms of totals and I said that I felt sure it would be an under series, not like I am claiming any wins there when its been breakeven so far. I said that because I thought it gave credence to my thinking that tonight's game had the makings of a 1-0 or 2-1 game and bingo a 2-0 final. I backed the under on every game and went 2-1 in the series, no big deal. Where have I claimed past credit on here anyways? I would be the first one to call it out if someone on here got into the habit of taking credit for games after they were played.

Post whatever you'd like, from now on I promise to leave all your posts without a reply. I tried to point out a fault in your thinking and invite anyone to point out faults in my thinking when I post a particular play, but remember I didn't specifically argue against your pick, just some of the logic behind it, and I get this in reply. So go ahead and post gems or nonsense if you want, I will leave it to the readers to figure out if it passes the smell test or not.

I just leave with this point, no matter what you do on here in the picks you post it makes no difference in the real world. What you really back with money and what your real results, that is what matters. If you have been winning real money with the picks you have posted here then great, keep it up. Worrying about how well your picks do on here or how someone else is doing is a waste of time. Further your sensitivity to people trying to point out faults in your theories is troubling. I remember you saying you were starting out at this awhile back so I thought I would help you and all the readers out, trying to make anyone who cares become better at this. I don't post many picks because I realize this to be the 100% truth, actually backing your picks with hard cash and being ahead over time is what matters when its all said and done and posting on here is only good if you learn something from it. I get the sense, despite what you say, that you really don't want to learn anything in here and that you are just here to live by your motto "when I feel I have a winner, I post it" so I leave you in peace to do as you choose.

In did not occur to me that anyone would even think that I don't back my selections with money. To spend time and effort on handicapping and not try to profit from it would be, to me, very foolish. Just so there is no doubt:

Every game I post, I bet.

When I write 'Take SF -131' I have 1.31 units of money riding on that game to win 1 unit.
When I take a dog or bet a parlay, I bet 1 unit to win whatever the odds pay.
When I write 'Pistons Q2 Under xx, 3 units' I have 3 units(at the usual 11-10) riding on that play.

So, yes, as is obvious from my winning record, I am winning real money.

Worrying about how well your picks do on here or how someone else is doing is a waste of time...posting on here is only good if you learn something from it.

I disagree. This issue is credibility. There are arguments on this board about handicapping. If I see one man with an 0-10 record disagree with a man with a 10-0 record, I'm going with Mr. 10-0.

It's just like the mutual fund industry. Don't tell me about how many freakin' PhD's you have, don't tell me about all your wonderful academic studies on investing, show me your results. How do your beautiful theories work in the real world?

It's called a track record. Mine is good, I don't see anyone else posting one.

So, I'm here under false flag. I see. Well, that's very interesting, yes, very interesting. And I have a motto! Again, just so there is no doubt in anyone's mind:

I am here to make money.

To make money, I post my picks in hopes that others will post their winners. I like to see why a pick was made so I can learn and pick more winners. But, I'll settle for just the picks if I see a good track record.

As for a motto, about the only quote I've ever stated with any regularity is from John 8:32 - "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set ye free."

Chalk means favorite.

In the early bookie joints the odds were posted on a black board. Like today's casino displays, only the line on the favorite was listed. Chalk was used so the line could be easily changed as the action came in. So the favorite came to be known as the "chalk team."

I do believe mike is teasing me a bit since I bet mostly favorites in hockey and now he sees me posting two favorites in baseball.
