Q, I haven't played any hornfans tourneys for a few months. I live a while away, like to drink, and was making more online than I could there (not that that would be tough). I also got frustrated at finishing on the bubble 3 tourneys in a row, every single time being the favorite when I went in. Worst one was flopping a set and getting runner runnered for a straight (although it was a perfectly OK call pre flop - 3,3 vs A,J)

3-6-12 and 10-20 anywhere in Louisiana is a lagfest. Be very liberal what you play from the CO and button, but keep it tight everywhere else. Its so easy to trap players with check-raises on the turn and river, usually trapping 2 or 3 of them.
The swings are HUGE though, I bring $500-$600 with me to play. Its not unusual for me to hear the dealer say, "Nine players.", as he/she deals the flop and I'm the only one sitting out. Some 2+2ers are going to Paragon Casino in Marksville friday night to rape the 4-8 game. Ya'll try and make it if you can. |

Yeah, its made of guys from the hornfans board. Good group of guys (and a few girls), usually 30-40 players, pretty well run, usually $20-30 buy in, cash games after the tourney. I live almost in Georgetown and the game is near downtown, so its a bit of a hike, especially if you last awhile - usually finishes in the wee hours.
