$6/12 games in AC
A few quick questions. I have been playin $3/6 games at the borgata for a few monthes. Made about 1.5k in 2 monthes and have been averaging about 3 bets an hour. Does this seem like a possible rate to be constantly making? I thought it was high at first but it just kept comin in no problem.
Anyways that brings me to my real question. How is $6/12? And is it a big step between those limits? Are there many tourists or is it mostly people playing for money? Thanks alot. on a side note i'd be playin the 6/12 at the borg if that changes anything |

Re: $6/12 games in AC
Do you play regularly online? If so, you can roughly equate the Borgata 6/12 game to either 1/2 or 2/4 full ring on Party. You will notice better play than at 3/6, but not so much better that it isn't worthwhile to make the jump. The rake at 3/6 is so draconian that the reduction in profit you experience as a consequence of better opponents may be offset by the reduced rake as a % of avg pots.

Re: $6/12 games in AC
when i play online, i play the 3/6 full ring on party and typically do pretty well. So its not bad? Also what's a good number to sit with on these? cuase i saw 2 guys with 1k in front of them at a 6/12 game and thought that was overkill.

Re: $6/12 games in AC
Averaging 3 big bets per hour is reasonable at 3/6, but not at 30/60. If you can do that, you should be able to try 6/12.

Re: $6/12 games in AC
3BB/hr is pretty big at a 3/6 game considering the rake structure. what is your sample size?
With that said, even if you are beating 3/6 at 1BB/hr, you should do fine in the 6/12. |

[/ QUOTE ] I either sit with $240 (2 stacks of red 2 stacks of white) or $300 (25BB). $340 is also do-able to get 3 stacks of reds and 2 stacks of whites, keeps the game moving. Any more seems to be overkill. Additionally, I have had 1k on the table at 6/12 there a few times, I didnt think it was overkill, in fact I didn't mind it a bit. If you buy-in for that much though, that's just plain h0m0.... The $6/$12 game at the Borgata is extremely juicy, and if you have a slight understanding of how to play solid poker, consider yourself ahead of the curve in that game. |

Re: $6/12 games in AC
highlife i'd say its about 45 hours i've been pulling that 3 big bets an hour from.
CCx that sounds great. Yeah i didn't figure it was too difficult as one guy sat down at 3/6 on his way to the 6/12 game (waiting). Dunno if anyone played with him, he had no left ear and a girlfriend trailin him on saturday night and sunday afternoon. But just judgin his play he seemed overly agressive and i tended to have no problem putting him on the correct hand. |
