Re: Your WSOP ME Day 1 assignment
I think you are under-estimating how tiring these events are. You need an incredible amount of endurance and concentration and it is really tough to keep it going after 12+ hours of poker and little rest and then starting again. In these events you play for 12-14 hours, get back to your room between 1-3am, and have to get up and play the next day around 12pm. It's also difficult to go to sleep so it makes it even that much more difficult to get a good night's rest.
My starting day is day 3. On a positive note I don't have to get there early and wait around assuming I make it out of the first day. On the negative side I'll have to go right from my 1st day to the 2nd. I've been there for quite a bit already and will be returning this weekend so familiarizing myself isn't an issue. |

Re: WARNING TO ALL QUALIFIERS
Even though you have received a starting assignment you will need to wait on line to get your physical player card and seat #'s. When I arrived the day before the $1.5k kick-off event this year the lines were huge. I imagine they will be much, much worse for the ME. If there is any way for you to get to Vegas earlier I would suggest it -- I just walked up to the window last week and received my ME card with no line. If you arrive during or just before the ME it could be a long wait. Not sure how to get around it, but don't expect to just arrive the night before you start (or worse, the morning that you start) and expect not to have to wait for quite some time.
