an interesting tilt statistic
I just calculated my win rate for hands immediately following a pot I lose. It's -0.22 BB/hand. This means that I'd do better by auto-folding and going for a walk after losing a pot. (Sample size is not large enough that this number is particularly accurate, but is large enough to conclude that it is negative with probability about 90%).
For comparison, my win rate over the same sample is 0.05 BB/hand (Obviously I'm currenly running good). Anyway, I think this is indicative of tilt. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this? (I don't have Access, only Excel, so it's hard to work out exactly what is going wrong in these hands from the Poker Tracker database, but I think in general I'm going too far with them.) Thanks for your help. -- wheeler. |

How did you filter for these results?

How did you filter for these results? [/ QUOTE ] I exported the Poker Tracker game notes into Excel (using Poker Tracker defaults), then it's just the simple matter of creating a formula. First sort the games by time. Then, in an extra column beside the exported data put =IF(AND($O2<-0.5,$E2=$E3),$O3,0) This counts your return on hands (in BB) after you lost more than 1 SB, provided they were in the same session. In another column put =IF(AND($O2<-0.5,$E2=$E3),1,0) This counts the number of hands for which you lost more than 1 SB. Then sum the columns and divide one by the other. Of course what I would love to be able to do is filter for these hands, then see how my statistics differ on these hands compared to the others. Anyone know how to do this? - wheeler |

Re: an interesting tilt statistic
Very cool. Thanks man.
As for filtering directly, you're going to need access and then you have to probe the DB and see if you could write a custom query to extract the data you want. It sound like it would be one messy query assuming you could get it out, perhaps Peter Rus could help you out? I think he knows the PT database fairly well. Nigel |
