he played that hand well. Maybe next time you should have Q10 so you can bust his KK.
Real advice: I think when he check-raises there, you know you're beat, since he has almost no FE here. Even still, with the money in the pot, i think i still call and river a 7. |

Attempted blind steal from three off the Button with Q7o and only raising 2.5xBB?
That's a remarkably bad idea...both the hand you attempted it with and the size of the bet. The risk/reward ratio isn't worth it, except in special (usually bubble) situations. You really don't want to get called, so you'd have to make the pot odds unfavorable by raising more than that. Of course, that wouldn't have helped against KK. I would have made a smaller post-Flop (2000ish) continuation bet to leave more folding equity if Check-Raised against most opponents. Your hand was caught in the cookie jar, be prepared to give it up. I guess he could have JJ, KJ, or 99 or something, but yuck. Then again, if it was ever folded to me 3 off the Button and i got a hand as nice as Q7o during that same tournament, i would have tried stealing the blinds, myself. I was never so fortunate after Level 2. |

You are quite close minded, that raise size was taking down the blinds and we were hand for hand waiting for the money (9 people away) If I take the blinds two out of every 3 times this is profitable, but more importantly are the stack sizes in question that make the PF play a good one imo.

1)You're too short to do this type of stuff unless the big stacks suck, because if pokerman is decent he'll often push 93o;
2)More importantly, when the guy CR's the flop he has Q7 beat. |
