Texture of the Party 2/4 makes this a bad play.

And by this, do you mean that at 2/4, I am not going to fold Button nearly enough to make it worthwhile or....?

Thanks for the reply, j.

The event

both villans fold or you outdraw them

won't occur frequently enough to make this porfitable. It's fairly easy to do the calculations and given the way people are playing at Party 2/4 right now you'll see the fold just won't happen enough to make this +EV.

Why would you fold the flop? Three of your pair outs may be dominated, but you have the backdoor flush, and the gutshot draw.

So that I would not be tempted to make bad turn semi-bluffs.

I understand.

I think one of the things I still struggle with is not playing straight-forward, ABC poker on occasion. I know it's been said a million times in here that in small stakes, ABC poker is best.

Bluffing and semi-bluffing is still a weak part of my game; it's rare when you have a particular read on one or more of your opponents and a particular scenario occurs during a session that exploits these reads. Because it happens so rarely sometimes, it's tough not to pull the trigger on a play like this when it seems like all of pieces are in place in a single hand.

Thanks, again....

Early returns are not so good....can anyone set me straight on why this is a bad play?

You can't semi-bluff bad players because they'll call you down. The chance that they'll fold is gone, so it's basically a value bet, which you don't have right now.
