Do you guys think I'm trying to raise strictly for value here? I don't actually think I'm ahead here, like, ever (and AK is even money against me, as was pointed out). Just got the idea from a few of you that you think I'm playing the hand with intentions of extracting value from my hand...

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you talking about PF Brendon? Chances are very good that you'll be ahead on the flop about 2/3 of the time.

I do think folding preflop for 1 more bet back to me is reasonable, since the range of hands I put villain on contain only hands I'm either utterly crushed by or 50/50 with, but I can't be certain which hand he has, and as such I'll be seeing scary flops in which I'm ahead or I'll be seeing favorable flops in which I'm drawing to 2 outs. I think there are a lot of highly unprofitable scenarios that may arise.

I'm not sure why you quoted that specific post, maybe I'm just confused. If you did mean to quote that post, then I don't know how to answer your question since I didn't raise preflop.

OMG...I totally screwed this up. I thought you were BB and he was sb stealing, in which case I 3 bet PF. Sorry....I just shut down playing too because I'm playing like an idiot. Time for ni-nite.

No. You should basically never limp and then fold for one more bet.

There are 4sb in the pot when it gets to you. You are 7.5-1 against flopping a set. Do you think you can make up 3.5 sb postflop when you flop a set?

You bring up a valid point, my friend. Of course, if I spew my money away like I did in this hand when I don't flop a set, it's no longer a good idea to see a flop.
