Re: rooming in Vegas
I think this is what you want.
http://www.pokerupdate.com/lasvegas.htm From what you've said, it sounds like you want Bellagio or Mirage. They spread the limits you want (although Mirage goes 10/20 or 20/40) and are located in the middle of the Strip. The Mirage is great, but I prefer Bellagio. I'm staying at Wynn this weekend. Maybe I'll post some comments when I get back. |

According to TravelAxe, Mandalay, Mirage, and Monte Carlo are all 4 stars. |

Re: rooming in Vegas
When I played at the Mirage 10/20 a couple of weekends ago, it was super tight. Switched to baby no-limit and it was tight as well.
I agree that the Wynn has a beautiful but very dull cardroom. Not a lot of action there. 4/8 1/2 kill at Mandalay Bay was pretty juicy. I highly recommend that game, particularly if you just want to drink and have a good time. 4/8 and 8/16 at the Bellagio was not worth the wait. My bro did very well at the 15/30 and 30/60 games. Freddy Deeb is much taller on TV. IMO, poker rate is a bad idea in Vegas. I like the flexibility of playing whereever and whenever I want. I can't speak to the quality of the rooms at the Flamingo, but the casino is gorgeous and the clientele appears to be fairly wealthy. Played a little 2/4 there with this hottie who just turned 21. Good times. |

Re: rooming in Vegas
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I was just at the Wynn. IMO the poker room sucked. It was new and nice, but the games were bad. At 11am on Saturday morning, they didn't even have enough people for a 15/30 game. The Bellagio is the nicest and the 15 games there were super good. I, being poor, would stay at the Mirage. I haven't played there in a while, but I assume that the games are good, or at least better than at the Wynn. If not, I'd just make my way to Bellagio to play. Playing aat Bellagio and staying at Mirage is probably still cheaper than the poker rate at Bellagio. [/ QUOTE ] Kyleb, This is my biggest concern. The Wynn is very nice, but if games aren't available or are tough and I am stuck there 6 hours a day, then maybe I should stay at the more tried and true Bellagio/Mirage. Although like you said, "totally worth it", I'd like to check out. Ken, I'm on budget but not a stringent one. I will be playing a lot of poker, want the softest games, want a 4-star or better, and lastly would prefer to stay where I play. Look at it as part vacation and part poker. PokerBob, so if I understand you correctly, you would stay at the Mirage without the poker rate and then play at the Bellagio? The regular Mirage rate is not cheaper than the Bellagio poker rate. Thanks all for chiming in. [/ QUOTE ] I'd probably stay at the Mirage and pray that the 15 games are good. I am assuming that they would be. |

Re: rooming in Vegas
I've met many people who have stayed at the San Remo and all reports are positive. If expense is important then you won't go wrong. It's also located next to Excalibur,MGM,New York,New York and the Tropicana. There's a lot of activity in that part of the strip--I enjoy it more than the other part of the strip(Caesars,Bellagio, etc.)

Re: rooming in Vegas
Here's a link to a website that has the comp/discount information for the leading poker rooms in Vegas. When I go, I stay at the Bellagio. Everything about the place is great--the rooms, the games, the location, the restaurants, etc.
Good luck! http://www.pokerkicksass.com/RoomInfo.html |

Re: rooming in Vegas
Mandalay Bay is nicer than Mirage. Haven't been to the Wynn, but of the others I would rank Mandalay 3rd in Vegas behind Venetian and Bellagio (not much behind Bellagio). I would guess the Wynn may be nicer as well, but as I said I haven't been inside yet. With that being said, the Mirage is cheaper than Mandalay and the poker room at the Mirage is much better.

I'd probably stay at the Mirage and pray that the 15 games are good. I am assuming that they would be. [/ QUOTE ] 15 meaning 15-30? (I don't think they spread), or 15, the number of games? Don't they have about 30 tables? Or did you mean 15 games of a specific limit? Noone talks about the Mirage anymore. It's all Bellagio this, Wynn that. |
