Annoying Beginners Query

I play Stud/8 on stars at the 0.5/1 limit and have done pretty well. I've won $100 over the past 4 days playing about 3-4 hours a day. The players are horrendous and will consistently pay you off with 8-7 lows. But as in any hi/lo game you are basically looking for that one pot to scoop. I have ran well over the past couple days with a couple of nice scoops, but if you know what you are doing the games are beatable.
