Default Question about a live game situation...

While at casino Windsor playing the 100 max no limit game a situation came up where everyone folded around to the button, who limped for 2 dollars. SB calls, BB checks.

Flop has 2 clubs but all rags. The table checks around.
Turn is the A of clubs. The table again, checks around.

River is nothing signifigant. Checked around to the Button who bets 10 dollars. SB immediately raises to $50. BB makes the call but with a $100 bill, thus no chips were used and no noise.

The button goes all in for 260 or so total. SB immediately calls and only has about 220. Before the BB can make an action the button claims he has the nuts and flips over KcTc. The SB, a really obnoxious player starts freaking saying that the button's hand is dead because he flipped it before the BB made his decision.
The floorperson comes over and pretty much just acts like hes going to go along with it, offer no real explanation and takes 220 of the buttons chips and gives them to the SB since he had made the all in call but then "mucked" his hand.

This can't be right, or is it? It's always been my experience that if a player flips his hand, that's his fault. The button's hand didn't touch the muck or the community, so what gives? Is this pretty standard?

wow. somebody got over excited. I believe it can be right and is right. You show your hand during ongoing action and it's dead.

why you are questioning it is probably thinking so what? All he did was possibly cost himself some money. But if he hadn't had the winning hand he cost SB some money.

This rule I would assume was made with this scenario in mind.

I can't find any mention of this rule in Robert's Rules or anywhere else. Only mention is that if a player exposes his cards it's his fault, and will be played.

I mean, if I want to play a round with my cards face up, I should be allowed to do so, I mean, who does that hurt other than me.

In the above situation, the only person who hadn't acted yet verbally was the BB, by the button showing his cards, he essentially saved the BB money as he had only called the 60 at that point.

I'm confused, why did the small blind get pushed the pot when the button's hand was considered dead, what happenned to the big blind? Did he decide to fold?

No, BB had a $100 bill on the table, called for the other 40.
Sb had Jc2c and BB had Ace rag.

In our cardroom (others might have different house rules)and assuming no cards hit the muck, Button's hand is live, SB is a nit for his obvious angle-shooting protest and BB has the right to call/fold/raise. Of course with the nuts now being shown, the BB would certainly fold thus saving himself some $$. Sucks for the Button.

It may have been 6 bucks before the 10 dollar bet by the button at the end, but this game in windsor is ridiculous. Standard raise is at least 10 bucks preflop. Minimum.
