Crazy NL Cash Style
I tried an interesting experiment the other day on the UB $0.50/$1 tables. I'm curious if anyone else has tried this style to the extreme I have applied it, and what kind of results you've had...
I took the idea from Negreanu's NUTBAR, designed for limit and applied it to no-limit. It was also inspired by a thread about Paul Phillips a while back "throwing a party" at the Mirage $200-$500. My strategy is to try to keep up 50% preflop raising (raise to $5), 75% first-in flop-betting. I also drastically change my post-flop betting sizes, hopefully randomly, but who knows there might actually be a pattern. Here's the catch, I SHOW EVERY HAND THAT WAS NOT WORTH MY BETTING. For example, I raise to $5 UTG, I get a call. Flop is AQ6r. I bet $7, opponent folds, I opt to show 73o. If I actually flopped better than bottom pair and they fold, I muck it. I'll show if I'm betting on pure draws. The UTG betting/showing is vital, because it ensures you get the some action on your UTG JJ-AA when the time comes. This may sound silly to some people. It's just TOO crazy and aggressive. And I have to admit, doing this you have to concede to losing most of your first buy-in. However, I've had great success w/ it so far (even though it's tiny sample size). Every time I've finished the session up at least $100 or $200 after about an hour (playing this way is draining!). The action you get on your good hands is insane. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this. I mostly stumbled upon it via tilting, but realized I was good enough relative to the rest of the table to sustain it (at least, so far). Is this sustainable at higher limits? One of my friends doesn't think so. Any thoughts? Eto... |

Re: Crazy NL Cash Style
your table would have to be very tight weak to have this style work.
if I was at the table I would repop you preflop with any 2 every once in a while. |
