Default Equity

Ive been messing around with stove and running simulations with a particular hand vs a range of hands. If, on the river, it says I have 50% equity, does this mean hand X is good vs the range 50% of the time? If not, where am i going wrong understanding equity?

no. if you want to know how much to discount an out on the turn, put the card youre curious about as the river card. the resulting % will the % of the time that out is good for your against his range of hands.

for example if you have A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and the board is T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and you put your opponent on QQ-TT and AT. to know how much to discount your ace outs on the turn put in the A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] as the river card. pokerstove shows 57% equity, so your ace needs to be discounted by 43% in this situation.

hope this makes things clear,

it doesnt, because i thought thats what i was saying, but i didnt explain my scenario fully. i ran AQo on a simple board vs a range. With A as the river card, it showed about 50% equity and with Q as a river card, it also showed about 50% equity. So yes, i would discount my outs 50% here?

but in your example, every out is discounted at a different percent, of course.
