This should be a post about how NOT to play your set of 4's. You WANT to bet that set against a PFR with an ace on the board. The villian gained what, one whole extra BB from you on the river?

Your play with AQ was just fine. A bit unlucky that he hit his 2 outer on the flop.

If I were you, I'd fold the river. Unless you have a read that says this guy is a total donk, you are not going to win at showdown. Making these calls against what you perceive to be a reasonable opponent adds up.
