I hear it's supposed to be a decent room, and they have some of the best meal specials in vegas if you like cheap eats.

San Remo does have a $5.95 Prime Rib dinner which Nolanfan34 and I had when we were there last week, and it was ok.
However, they are doing some remodeling right now (turning into a Hooter's Casino) so maybe you should wait until after the remodel to stay there.

I thought they charged extra for the corpse.

Getting back to the point -- There are a lot of decent rooms in LV on or near the strip that will be less expensive than Bellagio, Mirage, etc. even with the poker rate.

On a budget, I'd look around a bit and see what I could find.

The AmericaWest site is a good resource. They'll give you room quotes without air. Their rates aren't always the lowest, but should give you some idea as to what hotels to check out on line or with a call.

I stayed at Bellagio from 6/18 through 6/22, and I agree that the 15/30 game was great, except at certain times during weekday afternoons.

I played at Wynn's 2/5 NL for a few hours late Saturday night, and the game was pretty tight. I heard that the 40/80 game was great though.

How about the MGM? It's a little cheaper yet not too far from the others? I'm doing this same research right now and I'm kind of leaning this way. How are the games at MGM and during the world series overall? I'd prefereably play 10-20 15-30 but down to 5-10 is fine or no limit, pot/omaha.

Thanks

I'll definitely check out MGM, but from what I've heard it's focus is mostly low limit. But if it's not hard to find a 10-20 or 15-30 game there I'll play. I'm just worried about committing to 6 hours a day if there are no games running or they are tough.
Also their poker rate is only $40 off base (what $ does this work out compared to Bellagio/Wynn/Mirage?), and it's a little further out.

I think I found SanRemo as the cheapest on/really close to the strip on TravelAxe.

Mandalay doesn't have the games you want and is way to far from the other hotels. I thought the Wynn games were good, but I only played 4/8. However, the 8/16 also looked very beatable and was always going. It is also a little down the strip. If I had to do my recent trip over again, I'd probably stay at the Bellagio.

Yeah according to allvegas review Mandalay has 9 tables. I can't commit 5 hours a day to a 9 table room I don't think. Plus someone earlier mentioned that the biggest game was 4/8. Not worth it, unless maybe the room was free.

So it seems:
Bellagio is safest.
Wynn is really nice accomodations, but the games there are suspect.
Mirage is interesting. I know it's cheap, but I haven't heard much about the action there. Are there no decent games left at the Mirage?
What aboug MGM?
