Did anybody notice this?
http://www.pokerpages.com/mambo/inde...iew&id=140 Ellix Powers and Jim McManus are both at table 15 of the limit hold'em event with 69 players left. Oh, I hope ESPN is filming this. Priceless. |

Woah, that's the exact event they were in last year. ESPN might set an all-time high for ratings if there was a rematch at the final table between the two.

I just hope he "disrespects the game", again!
McManus definitely came away from that looking like an ass. |

According to McManus, ESPN edited that to make sure he came away looking like an ass.

At least he didn't come off looking like a crazy, feral homeless guy.

I met a guy that plays in McManus' home game. Every time he accidentally acts out of turn, the guys tease him that he's "disrespectin' the game."

According to McManus, ESPN edited that to make sure he came away looking like an ass. [/ QUOTE ] But McManus still supplied them with the raw material to work from. Disrespecting the game, indeed. |

Disrespecting the game, indeed. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I just want to make clear to everyone that I didn't tell Ellix Powers he was disrespecting the game simply because he bet in the dark a couple of times. He'd just spent two hours aggressively taunting the likes of T.J. Clouier and David Chiu, two of the best players ever. (No, he wasn't taunting me, in case you were wondering.) He also left the table during the action several times, muttering to himself, claiming anyone who wanted to finish higher than sixth was crazy or greedy. He also was betting in the dark on a regular basis. The last thing I wanted was to get into a beef at a televised WSOP final table, of course, but anyone who was there can tell you Ellix was 186,676 miles out of line. [/ QUOTE ] The lesson, as always: ESPN can make anything look however they want. |
