Default Hand I was thinking about

Here's a hand from a few days ago that really felt like a kick in the stomach. I was just wondering if anybody else would have played it much differently. Sorry, but I can't remember some of the specifics.

I'm on the button with T [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] Several limpers, I limp as well.

Flop comes A [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img]

Couple of checks, mid position bets, couple of calls, I raise from the button, lose a couple of ep players, mid position reraises, all call.

Turn: K [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img]

Mid position bets, lose everybody but me, I call.

River: 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img]

Mid position bets, I raise, he reraises, I call.

He turns over K [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] for the nuts.

I don't think I could have done a whole lot on this hand, but I'm definitely open to criticism.

hi asdf
anytime you have a broadway unsuited on, even if it hits on the turn, and you have a suited broadway or maybe two suited broadways on, you must slow-down with your non-nut flush draw. that one single non-suited broadway should send you into check and call mode. the lower flushes are very strong holdings. you were good though here until the turn, to play fairly strongly.

I probably would have played it the same...tough break.

I think that I might have lost one extra bet small bet here, I would have considered capping the flop. Other than that, I would have played the same.

I think this is the "textbook" reason why you don't try to buy a free card without a draw to the nut flush (with an unpaired board). I would have called on the flop.
