Re: 2+2 at the WSOP ME
[ QUOTE ]
played one $525 sat and won. We had a $500 last longer too and I took that. [/ QUOTE ] I love playing winner-take-all sats where some of my opponents are in a last-longer. |

Re: 2+2 at the WSOP ME
[ QUOTE ]
I would be surprised if we only had 20. me dogsballs jurollo granny odoyle rules amazon corey nick-zack nick b alobar sklansky raymer equal guessing that daryn is a strong possibility. that's 14 just off the top of my head and I didn't even look at the 'Your WSOP day 1 assignment' threads to refresh my memory. I think we had 20 or so 2+2'ers on the PPM cruise and that event only had 700 players. Pokerstars is sending almost 1k players....surely we have at least 20 in that bunch alone. [/ QUOTE ] much more than 20 i'm in, i know colson10 and schaefer are also. i'm def thinking its in the 100-ish range |

Re: 2+2 at the WSOP ME
[ QUOTE ]
i'm def thinking its in the 100-ish range [/ QUOTE ] Given the OP's definition (anyone with more than 200 posts) the number playing the ME will be considerably more than 100. Keep in mind that there are lots of people who may have made 200 posts in 1999 or whenever and still play poker, but no longer participate here. |

Re: 2+2 at the WSOP ME
I hear people saying that, but for me, it doesn't effect my strategy much at all. Perhaps if it's just two of us left and there are other players I might be a bit more conservative, but only very slightly so. I also find that the better, more experienced players are the ones who always want to do the last longers and it's the weaker players (not you of course <G> who decline -- so most of the time it's the last longer crowd who come down to the end.

Re: 2+2 at the WSOP ME
I think it totally depends on how many 2+2ers are entered. If there are 30 2+2ers in a field of 6,000, then odds would be 200-1, if you assumed all players were equal.
I guess the question is, how much better are the 2+2 entrants, than the "average" player who's entered in the ME? In other words, if the true odds were in fact 200-1, how would you adjust those odds to account for the skill level of 2+2ers, compared to the rest of the field? |

Speaking of 2+2ers at the WSOP ME...
Are there any gatherings of 2+2ers planned during the Main Event?
I know had that meetup earlier in the Series, but i was hoping there'd be a get-together for those of us only flying for the Main Event. I certainly wouldn't mind meeting some of you people...though preferably away from any middle limit or higher poker table. Perhaps we could hold a vigil outside Mr. Sklansky's house in tribute. I'm sure he'd love that. |

Re: Speaking of 2+2ers at the WSOP ME...
I've chatted with a few people about 'we should get together for drinks' or something like that....but nobody has set up anything official.
Since I don't know my way around Vegas in the least I'm NOT the person to try to put something like this together. I do suggest we start a new thread and try to organize SOMETHING though. It's the freaking WSOP afterall and a bunch of us are going. So I think we should organize something of the Magoo-ish get-together type-vain. |

Agreed, something on Monday or Tuesday (July 4th or 5th) would be ideal. I will leave it in your hands Bob.
