greenstein on chan
I was always under the impression that Johnny Chan was one of the elite poker players in the world. I know he is most famous for his back to back WSOP championships as depicted in Rounders, but I always thought he killed the highest ring games too, including the big game. I also know his poker playing in terms of playing time tapered off over the last decade.
After reading the article by Barry saying that too much credit is given to tournament players I noticed he didn't include Johnny Chan on his list of the world's elite. My questions: 1) Does, or did Johnny Chan regularly play and beat the "big" game? 2) In what "tier" of players would Barry Greenstein rank Chan now? In his prime/in the past? 3) Is the reason Greenstein doesn't rate Chan as an elite player due to Chan's lack of elite status, or due to Chan's decreased poker playing? |

I've checked out Barry's site before, but it still doesn't answer the question of Chan's place among the top players according to Barry, as in the Rosenbloom ESPN article. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/poker...amp;id=2057000 |

Re: greenstein on chan
I was under the impression that Chan does not play nearly as much as he used to. Also you must remember Barry lives in LA and Chan lives in Vegas.

wow, larry flynt is a good poker player. I would of never of guessed. I saw a documentary on making porn via HBO. Flynt was interviewed and could barely talk or even make an intelligent statement. Very odd. I honestly thought he was retarded from too many drugs, age, etc.
