It's not so hard to be gracious and moral from a position of near-total victory with overwhelming military superiority. Are we supposed to be impressed that Jews don't drive their cars from their homes to blow themselves up in refugee camps?! You know from your study of history that Israeli Jews are not above using the bomb in the marketplace. Just the opposite, entirely. Plus, however many there may be that would love to load Arabs into box cars on a one-way trip (and we need not debate the number), they know that would probably cost them their foreign aid and patronage.

The jewish insurgents did not have the same chance at negotiations. I'm not defending anyones specific actions, but the situations are not directly comparable. Islamic terrorists will never negotiate because isreal cannot offer its destruction and dead jews.

The palestinan terrorists do not need to resort to their methods and I cannot see how you can plead this case. Their violence alone is the cause of their poor political situation. This only proves that their actions are not politically motivated, but rather that religous and cultural goals fuel their deeds. Under these circumstances, Israel is not left with many choices.

The few jews that actually think they can just move the arabs out (basically the ultra-rightists) are so marginalized by mainstream Israel that it's almost a joke to include them as a realistic political movement. Think David Duke. Israel's inclusive (read: not two-party)political system gives them a voice, but nobody really listens.

And even then, the psychos don't want the arabs dead; just not here.
