Thanks for the quick response.
I think im a pretty good poker player, I only 19 though, I play at my local indian casino sometimes and online for the past year. But im just starting to get into it. Can somebody give me advice. I don't want to go pro or make $1Million in a day. Just make some money, have fun, and get better at poker.

You're not grinding 'til you're playing at least 40 a day and the rent is due and rakeback hasn't hit your account yet and the tao approach to crap streaks takes the backseat to dog and/or domestic abuse.

Hello all.

I am new here too.
I have lurked around for a few months though, and I've read as much as I wanted/could about SnG strategy.
Thank you all very very much, the advice on these forums has improved my SnG play a lot!

I only play ten or so 10+1 party SnGs a day, but I feel nate_king1s question brings up a good point:
How many grinders are there really compared to clueless people at the 5+1 level? 10 + 1?
Could anyone make an educated guess about it?

In the majority of 10+1s I play I dont spot any pushmonkeys

I usually play 33s, but about two weeks ago I played a couple of hundred 11s when I was learning to 12-table, and I'm also teaching a couple of friends how to play the 11s, these days - so I'm a little up-to-date on how those plays.

I've never had so many people telling me I'm a bad player than in the 11s

They say stuff like this constantly: "wtf!? you go all-in again?! is that your only move!? you suck! everyone call him! pleeze! bust that idiot!" ..

and when some clown calls me and busts me, the whole table starts laughing and celebrates while saying stuff like "you lucky bastard - _I_ was supposed to take all his chips"..

I guess my point is that many of the "good" 11'ers don't understand that going all-in is often smarter than miniraising, that raising is often smarter than calling, and many of them are way too tight near the bubble. (folding their ministack when they're so pot committed that they really should have no choice but to call)

Anyway, there certainly are some good 11'ers too - but overall I was surprised to see how many bad players there were (compared to the 33s) - even in the "off-peak" hours.

If you can 8-table or more, it's possible to make pretty good money in the 11s, so I'm sure there are plenty of grinders there..

I'm guessing most of them move up - but for various reasons - I'm sure some of them stay too..

To the OP and the other new poster: STOP PLAYING THE 6s. You are wasting your money. The rake on these is ridiculous and there is no reason to pay it if you can afford to play the 11s.

To Lucid, yes people tend to complain in the 11s when you start pushing like crazy, but they still don't spite call with crap, especially if you can bust them. I had one guy so pissed that I kept pushing (and winning every time someone called) from like 5 people left that after it was over he actually found other tables I was at that were still going and came to those to bitch from the rail. But most of the time, no one says anything and you can keep stealing. I have noticed that in the 11s people are willing to call the short stack with just about anything that stands a reasonable chance (ie suited connecters, small pairs, any A or K), so you actually need to be more careful as a shorty than a big stack sometimes. They also have absolutely no concept of protecting the bubble to exploit middle stacks, they want to be in the money as quickly as possible.

Yeah, okay, so since when did grinding become something to aspire to?

You can play for fun, play to learn (as I am), play to buy yourself crap with chump change, or play to win all the money in the world and be the biggest champion ever.

I mean, I understand how someone could END UP grinding, but to aspire to it?
